Canadian Border Vaccine Requirements

If you haul to and from Canada, heads up!

A new mandate by the Canadian Government went into effect on Saturday, January 15, 2022 that requires all foreign drivers to either show proof of vaccination or valid medical exemption when crossing the US/Canada border into Canada.

Canada's border agency has said that unvaccinated truck drivers who are not Canadian would be turned away at the border starting on Jan. 15. This could possibly cause delays at the crossings.

There is talk that the US may add a similar vaccine mandate soon for Canadian truck drivers. We'll be watching to see if or when that mandate goes into effect.

Canadian drivers who are unvaccinated will be allowed back into the country, but will be required to quarantine for 14 days. All vaccinated drivers will be allowed in and allowed to skip a pre-arrival molecular coronavirus test, the agency said.
